Headaches can insidiously weaken your energy and drain your enthusiasm. There are many types of headaches and ways to release and remove them. Tapping, curved palm slapping, and pinching can release stuck energy and free you from pain in a huge variety of problems.
These three tips give you quick methods that are ‘at your fingertips’. Tapping, the first one is valuable when a headache occurs. It is more valuable when done for a minute daily. Tap either before or after you step out of the shower. A regular time slot makes it a personal habit and prevents more than headaches as well as lifting your energy every day.
1. Turtle Neck.
I have found this exercise one of the easiest and most efficient ways to keep my neck strong over years, even though my neck vertebrae have been damaged.
Do this exercise slowly and gently when moving head.
Keep shoulders relaxed, tuck in chin, then lift and push out chin in front of the body. Roll chin downwards until it touches front of chest. Gently roll head up and back slightly.. Move head to usual upright position, and start again. Do this movement six (6) times.
Tap your with the pad of fingers and thumb. Use both hands at the same time. Start with firm quick taps from the centre base of the head and move hands out to side of base Tap around the base area several times then tap up centre line from the back of head to hairline at the forehead. Move out across the front hair line, up over ears and down the base. Continue in this general pattern for 2 to 3 minutes. The aim of this practice is to increase up the flow of energy and fluids in the head which will release the tension and pain.
3. Acupoint Pressure LI4 on the back of hand.
THIS POINT IS FORBIDDEN FOR PREGNANT WOMEN. LI4 can cause the uterus to contract prematurely. This point is useful for frontal head, jaw and shoulder aches and pain as well as when a woman is in labor.
Place your right thumb pad between the left thumb and index finger at the end of the webbing when thumb and finger come together. Press firmly for several minutes. Release and reapply pressure longer as needed.
4. Coffee Clear.
This is an unusual recommendation from me as I say “smell the coffee aroma not drink the fluid” as coffee causes a drain on your adrenal glands. For severe headaches – if you think or feel you are beginning a severe or migraine headache make and drink two cups of black coffee. Have it black even though you prefer it with milk or not at all as it usually upsets you. Follow the coffee by lying down or resting a little if you can.
5. Leg Massage- preventative.
This is one of the many ways to assist prevention of headaches. Massage both legs by massaging inside of legs from feet up to knees. Then massage down the outside of the legs from knees to feet. This exercise can be done lying, sitting, or standing, one leg or both legs at a time.
