As a female, or male with a female partner, do you dread the thought or actuality of the female menopause phase in life?
A plethora of magazines now have articles and adverts for the female hormonal pathway through life. Many of these articles assume the majority of women have difficulties in some or all phases. Women read the magazines and start to worry “Will I have hot flushes/flashes”, “what if I can’t control my bladder”, “maybe I won’ t be attractive anymore?”, “”what will happen to my relationship if I don’t want to have sex?”
You can go through peri-menopause, menopause, and post menopause without any negative symptoms, loss of energy or loss of desire for sexual intercourse. Have you noticed there have emerged in recent years many more names to describe a period of inner change in a woman’s life.
Very little is written about the time of Wisdom and the Golden Years, both of which are powerful and enjoyable times for women.
Women in some cultures do not report experiencing the difficulties that are written about in our western society. Most importantly they do not expect to experience negative symptoms or difficulties.
The tips here have proven very effective over time. They have been chosen are to retain health, vigour, and vitality whatever age you are and enjoy your sexuality. They will also relieve unpleasant symptoms you or your loved ones experience during hormonal change.
- Ovarian Massage.
Stand with feet shoulder width apart or lie down. Place hands on abdomen with fingers facing down and the tips of thumbs meeting at the navel. Massage the area under the middle of your palms. Massage down and out to energize your ovaries, or up and out if you want to calm them. Do 36 times. Even if you no longer have ovaries do the massage as the energy of the ovaries is still part of the body on the inside, the same as someone who has lost a limb can still feel where it was.
- Breathing to Balance.
Sit on a chair or cushion and follow your breath. As you breathe in sense your energy going down to your navel. As you breathe out sense your energy going from your navel down to the base of your body then up the centre of your body to under your eyes. Do this for up to 10 minutes or until your hands are very warm. This is a great meditation for any phase.
- Calm the Emotions.
Stand, sit, or lie down. Breathe in the quality your would like e.g. if angry, breathe in peace or patience. Breathe out the unwanted emotion.
- Uplift Your Energy Flow.
For a quick uplift or to turn your energy over so you feel better. Place your middle finger of either hand on the acupoint on the bridge above your nose and between the inside of both eyebrow. Hold your finger there for up to 1 minute while you see with your mind’s eye an experience when you felt happy.
- Less rather than More.
Another way to relieve hot flushes/flashes is to avoid any fluid or food which heats up your body i.e. caffeine, alcohol, fiery spices, drugs, tobacco. These all spike the adrenal glands to act so they don’t get a chance to rest and keep our immune system strong.
