Lose Weight Without Worry

Weight won’t wait. It will be more trouble every day as it causes your body to be out of balance.

Feel overloaded and under-fed? Fed-up with advice from people who don’t understand? People use the word obese and you cringe. More troublesome is after you do lower you weight level, more comes on- a familiar pattern that needs changing for you to be who and what you want.

It is astounding, the more you worry about your weight being too much the more your body puts weight on. It is simple really. What we concentrate on happens. Worry about ‘too much’ or ‘too little’ makes sure we will keep having too much or too little wherever our thoughts focus. i.e. can’t sleep, high debt, poor health, overweight, underweight…..

The physical body does what it is meant to do when we do not interfere too much. However when we suddenly stop giving it what it has been used to, food which adds to the fat supply, then it will simple work to make up the supply internally to replace what it has lost. This practice is clearly demonstrated when someone removes all fat building food (good and bad) from their diet because they have a high cholesterol reading. The body requires cholesterol so gradually it goes about replacing what has been taken away with the resulting high cholesterol level again.

It is all about balance. When we remove or add too much of a certain element our body becomes like a yoyo going up and down. We all know if we work too long and do not sleep very much our physical body will deteriorate because it is out of balance. If plants do not get sufficient water they weaken and die. So too does our body weaken. Modern and ancient science has long known that where we place our intention, change will happen.

You can try this for yourself. Concentrate on a small part of your skin. Decide, and set your intent, for it to become colder (or warmer). Focus on cold/heat in that area for a few minutes and notice what happens. Another easy personal demonstration is to image a thermometer with 0 to 100 on it. When you can visualize or think of the thermometer in front of you with 0 at the bottom and 100 at the top think about how much energy you have right now- fifty percent, thirty percent. Would you like more energy? Focus on lifting the level in the thermometer up five percent. Next, focus on raising the level of the thermometer up another five percent. Does it now read ten percent higher? If so, with your intention and your thoughts you have altered your own level of energy.

With your intention, your thoughts, and emotions you can bring your body weight into balance.

If you want to weigh more or less focus you mind on your strongest attributes, not on your weight. Focus on what you like about yourself, and praise yourself often.

Here are some practices to assist you to do just that…

Learn to breathe like a baby.

Place one hand on the middle of your chest and the other over your navel. Do this standing with feet apart and knees relaxed or lying down.

  • Take a small breath in through the nose and at the same time raise your ‘belly’ area slightly as though you are putting some air into a balloon.
  • Breathe out through your mouth slowly in a long even blowing breath. Aim to do the out-breath for six (6) seconds. Begin with what you can do and gradually build up to the six seconds as you practise each day.
  • NOTE; As you breathe out pull the belly inwards, firmly but not tight. This sends an inner vibration up the spine.
  • As you breathe out with a long exhale your lungs gradually empty stale air out and the inhale becomes stronger as there is more room for fresh air!
  • Continue with this practise for 5 minutes. Then increase a minute or two each day until you can do for 20 mins.

Now your body is getting the oxygen it needs to operate more effectively.

Strengthen your leg muscles and joints.

Stand with feet shoulder width apart and do the breathing given above. Stop when you feel discomfort. Relax your body and massage your knees. You can sit on the edge of a chair and place palm of hands over knees. Massage slowly with hands going in the same direction, thirty six time anti-clockwise followed by thirty six times clockwise. Sit quietly for a few minutes and allow the energy gained to run through your body.

Join a Qigong or Tai Chi class.

Both Qigong and Tai Chi will assist to regulate your body including your body weight. It will strengthen your legs and joints, ease back pain and create good posture. Importantly it can improve your blood and fluid circulation, taking pressure off your heart and other areas of the body.

Qigong brings your physical body, thoughts, and emotions into balance and you can become more connected with your Spirit.

Don’t worry on more weight. Set your intention and do one or more of the above practices daily. You and your body will start on a new adventure “together in balance”.
