In today’s world most of us suffer from information overload. Our internal reaction to this is our kidneys and adrenals try to care for our body by sending out signals to the brain and body that it is being damaged. As the signals are internal we don’t notice them, mostly until we are constantly fatigued. By then our store of energy is being seriously depleted. Do any of the following three practices a few times a day and you will add to your energy bank, rather than extend it in overdraft.
- KIDNEY-ADRENALS MASSAGE WITH HAND PALM. Your kidneys have a direct effect on your brain, your lower two energy centres (chakras), and your hormonal balance to name a few of the areas. Energise your kidneys daily to assist in lowering the effect of stress. To re-energise your kidneys rub the palms of your hands together fast until they are hot. Place palms on middle of your back at the waist line. Bend slightly forward and rub hands briskly up and down the middle of your back for 2-3 minutes. Finish with a half closed fists massage up and down lower spine 3 times to move any energy stuck from sitting down during the day.
- TWENTY PACE BACKWARDS WALK. This walk is effective when out walking or at home or work any time of the day or evening. Walk forward twenty or more paces, then turn around and continue the walk moving backwards for the same number of paces. Repeat this three to nine times. You could do it up and down in an area of your home, by first walking forward, stop, and then walk backwards the same distance to return to where you started. Believe it or not, this easy practice creates new neural pathways in your brain.
- RUN YOUR FINGERS THROUGH YOUR SCALP. Take a break from what you are doing right now and practice this one. Place the pads of your fingers on the top of your forehead. Breathe in as you run your fingers like a massage across the top and down the back of your head. Exhale as you take your hands off your head and shake your fingers. Repeat 9 times. This is also good to do if you or anyone around you thinks they may have caught a cold.
