Oxygen, clean water, green leafy and yellow-orange vegetables!
These three recommendations were the first to come up consistently as recommendations when I first began doing medical intuitive readings many years ago.
I pondered over why these were always given as the most important recommendations. It seemed too simple!
In the 1980’s anti-oxidants (the vegetables) and the breath and water were not mainstream concerns and practising qigong was certainly not in vogue (if you had even heard of it!).
For years now I have found the glandular system, especially the thyroid gland comes up with a high frequency in the profiles. I read information ahead of what may physically measurable at the time. I am aware that tiredness may be our first warning that the thyroid gland, our metaboliser, is tiring; overworked and depleted of nutrients.
There is a myriad of reasons why this happens. Genetic weakness in this area may well be an initial beginning point in the physical body. More often these days I find it comes from insufficient of the first three recommendations I received consistently when I began this work, combined with ‘burning the candle at both ends’ emotionally, mentally, and physically and any combination of these reasons.
However, on the physical level there is a major reason – and a simple one. We are not getting the iodine necessary for the thyroid to do its work efficiently! Just as, in the past, iodine was added to our salt for heath reasons, we now need to add it to our nutrition intake even more. Why? There is very little iodine in Australian soil, which is seen by the (if any) low, iodine traces in vegetables and produce grown or grazed in Australia.
A caution here – iodine MUST NOT be taken orally as it is dangerous to do so. If accidentally swallowed it requires urgent medical treatment. So, although our body only requires minute amounts of iodine for our thyroid glands to be efficient and effective, we do require it. The consequences over time of not having sufficient iodine, is a weakening our liver as well as the glandular and immune systems. Thyroid depletion is often what comes up in a reading when I ask for the physical origin of a life-threatening or chronic illness.
If you are waking tired every morning for no apparent reason, and even when doing more exercise it is still happening, and medically everything appears okay, then I suggest you consider looking at your nutritional intake. Consider how much iodine you are receiving, especially if you are having little manufactured salt which contains iodine. Also review your lifestyle stress levels.
Please note with the thyroid glands there may be a deficiency or excess problem that requires being brought into balance and iodine may not be suitable for every occasion.
The first recommendation is that, as the thyroid is in the throat area, the area of the will, it is necessary to keep the mental and emotional bodies in balance, through using your ability to change your energy flow easily through the joining of intent (thought) and breath. Without this, the nutrients you put into your body may not be well absorbed. Not only are the thyroids linked with all glands; the health of this 5th chakra is linked with how you structure your adult emotional life. It relies on the first chakra (concept), 3rd chakra (opinion) for it to be able to give its input (response) to keep the emotional structures healthy. Modelling for this comes from the adults around us during our formative teenage years.
When all these ‘structure forming’ areas are clear then the throat energy can remain healthy. So it is important to focus on the whole self when healing a part!
The major physical body recommendation for obtaining iodine naturally is to have sea products such as kelp, a variety of sea weed, sea salt. Again, the health of these depends where in the sea they have been harvested and how they have been treated and especially, how much your body needs for your thyroid gland to be fully functional.
As well as for prevention, these recommendations are useful in the healing of chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, liver, cancer, heart disease and much more.
ENERGY TIP TO BOOST YOUR METABOLISM
A recommendation you can find in a number of books to ensure sufficient iodine intake, is to take 2 tablespoons daily of a mixture of
¾ cup chopped dried dulse,
¼ wakame, kombu, and nori or sea palm and
½ cup of toasted sesame seeds.
